Getting started online can be just plain tough. There are countless internet marketing strategies out there and someone new to the world of internet marketing can quickly develop information overload.
And let’s face it, knowing what information to search for can be just as overwhelming. What beginners need is proper guidance and I want to pass on a few things that I have found to be most important in my online business journey.
Here are a few Internet Marketing Tips for the Newbie:
#1- GET YOUR MIND RIGHT
It sounds a bit corny but seriously…….mindset is EVERYTHING. Especially when going out on your own and building YOUR business. It goes for any business. There are a few things you must understand going into it.
You, in most cases, are not going to be instantly rich tomorrow. You’re building something here, it’s going to take a little time. If you want to have success you must invest.
Ignore the outside noise. Here’s something I’ve learned with age……..people mock and laugh at what they don’t understand. They see big opportunities and others breaking the mold and they mock it because they can’t see themselves ever achieving or reaching those types of goals. Focus on your business and ignore what others say about it.
Do not quit. When the going gets tough, when business is slow don’t just throw in the towel. Figure out ways to get more eyes in front of the product you’re selling. Business will slow from time to time. You have to adapt.
#2- TAKE ACTION
It may seem like there are a lot of pieces to the puzzle, and there may be, but go ahead and start putting that puzzle together. Listen, when I started video marketing I was terrible. TERRIBLE. But I made terrible videos and they still got views. Those views gave me encouragement and that encouragement made more videos. Videos which got better and better. See, I thought I needed to be great on camera before I shot my first video but I didn’t. I just got better at it with time. Most new marketers spend months searching for the latest and greatest internet marketing strategies or they try to perfect every avenue of their marketing before they release anything to cyberspace. Doing this only delays action which delay results.
#3- DON’T BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW
Don’t let this contradict #2. What I’m saying here is simply start taking action but don’t do too much. Don’t get over-eager.
Here’s an example:
When I started affiliate marketing I wanted to dive in strong. I knew what the top niche categories were and I wanted to try my hand at selling products in all of them. Well it doesn’t work like that. I had to split time between 6 different niches and was doing a poor job of managing all. Focus on one thing and build it. Invest your time and money to get the results that you want and move on from there.
#4- TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC
Let me say it again…….TRAFFIC!! Traffic will determine your sales. It’s as simple as that. You can have a great product but if people aren’t seeing it….well that’s not very fun. Build your traffic. There’s many ways to do this. If you follow this blog you’ll learn how to get traffic. Social media, SEO, paid advertisement, etc. There’s a lot of paths out there. Figure out what works and stick with it.
